Merry Christmas, Manor Lords players. A major new update has arrived, featuring fixes, improvements, and new content to enhance your medieval city-building experience. If you’ve been exploring Manor Lords’ beta branch recently, you may have encountered some of these additions. This substantial update consolidates everything into the main version of the game, providing a fresh experience for one of the top strategy games.
The update introduces extra preset modes and a useful new feature. The two new modes are Duel, a 1v1 competition against a rival family, and Fractured Realm, a four-player free-for-all. Additionally, you can now choose starting points on the map for both your clan and your opponents, allowing for strategic positioning to encourage early conflict or create distance.
Today’s update also expands the map pool with three new areas: Devil’s Hill, Lake Lemm, and Jagged Cliffs.
There are numerous new and reworked features as well. Players now have greater flexibility in commanding forces around castles with a new unit positioning system for walls. Units can climb ladders to access higher areas, and castle gates can be operated individually. Each module used to build your fortress can be upgraded to level two.
New jobs and building types have been added as well. Your clan can now utilize a Quarry, Stonemason, or Lime Kiln, each linked to new resources: Rough Stone, Dressed Stone, and Mortar.
A noteworthy change includes new environmental classifications, with regions divided into Meadow, Woodland, Farmland, Urban, and Rural. Buildings can now achieve different affinities based on their environment, such as the Animal Pen having a ‘Pannage’ Affinity, which reduces yield time for Pig Pens in Woodland areas.
Additional changes involve updates to core systems and various enhancements, such as food and regional development adjustments, tweaks to the yield system, new fishing nodes on rivers, and maintenance requirements for workplaces. For more details, refer to the full patch notes.
The new Manor Lords update is now live. It’s advisable to back up your save files and remove any mods before updating the game.
In 2025, there were concerns that Manor Lords was stagnating due to its small development team, but this update showcases a strong finish to the year, promising more exciting developments in 2026.
