Government agencies and leaders from the private sector, including GCash, a prominent finance super app in the Philippines, emphasized their commitment to advancing digital transformation in the financial sector during the 2025 Manila Tech Summit.

The summit, themed “Forging a New Global Order: Risks and Opportunities Redefined,” brought together local and global leaders to discuss how technology can create digitally inclusive societies and address the challenges of a digital world. GCash showcased its range of services—payments, savings, insurance, and lending—that aim to enhance financial access for millions of Filipinos.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. delivered the keynote address, highlighting the growth of the digital sector to PHP 2.25 trillion last year, which created 11.3 million jobs. He noted the need for further development to harness the potential of a fully digital Philippines.

To support digitalization, the government plans to enhance internet infrastructure and expand free WiFi access nationwide, recognizing the importance of digital capabilities for inclusive growth.

GCash focuses on financial inclusion by offering innovative digital financial solutions that empower Filipinos to engage in the digital economy. Oscar Enrico “Ren-Ren” Reyes, Jr., President and CEO of G-Xchange, Inc., stated that the adoption of digital finance is uplifting unbanked communities and improving public trust.

GCash aims to provide a comprehensive suite of financial solutions, including savings and investment options, to help users manage their finances effectively. Winsley Bangit, Group Head for New Businesses at Mynt, emphasized that true financial inclusion involves access to tools for everyday transactions and future planning.

The discussion highlighted how a network of self-service kiosks, banks, and fintech players is enabling access to essential financial services for all Filipinos, regardless of their location or income level.

GCash also offers accessible lending products through its lending arm, Fuse Financing Inc., which aims to provide responsible digital lending solutions to consumers and small businesses. Tony Isidro, President and CEO of Fuse Financing, noted that many Filipinos rely on informal credit sources, and GCash is using technology to promote fair lending practices.

GCash prioritizes user safety by investing in advanced cybersecurity measures. Miguel Geronilla, Chief Information Security Officer, discussed the importance of trust and transparency in ensuring the security of customer data and transactions.

The Manila Tech Summit gathered over 1,300 representatives from various organizations to accelerate digital transformation and promote financial inclusion in the Philippines. GCash continues to play a vital role in redefining how technology can foster progress for all.
