iPhone Fold CAD-based render leaks, revealing very unusual dimensions

The iPhone Fold has been depicted in its first CAD-based render, showcasing its unique dimensions. These images were released alongside CAD drawings meant for accessory manufacturers.

As previously speculated, Apple aims for the inner screen to be rectangular, allowing the device to open in landscape mode. This design choice may facilitate compatibility with iPad apps from the outset, potentially eliminating the need for developers to make adjustments.

The inner folding screen measures 7.76 inches diagonally with a resolution of 2713×1920. The cover display is 5.49 inches with a resolution of 1422×2088, resulting in an unusual aspect ratio. When folded, the iPhone Fold measures 120.6 x 83.8 x 9.6 mm, and when unfolded, it measures 120.6 x 167.6 x 4.8 mm.

The design includes an in-display selfie camera on the main screen, while the cover display features a hole-punch for its selfie camera. Additionally, the iPhone Fold has two rear cameras arranged in an oval-shaped bar similar to the iPhone Air.

While the iPhone Fold may be announced in September, recent rumors suggest it might not be available until early 2027.
