iPhone Fold expected to launch in 2026 but ship in 2027, says Kuo

Apple’s first foldable iPhone is rumored to debut next year during the fall iPhone event, but a new report indicates that shipments may be delayed until 2027. The device, tentatively named the iPhone Fold, is reportedly behind schedule, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Kuo mentioned in a research note that the foldable iPhone is expected to encounter early-stage yield issues and other manufacturing challenges before mass production begins. While Apple is on track to announce the iPhone Fold in the second half of 2026, Kuo warns that smooth shipments may not commence until 2027.

He also noted that supply is likely to remain limited through the end of 2026, despite strong demand. Additionally, a recent report suggests that the iPhone Fold could contribute to growth in the foldable smartphone market next year.

The iPhone Fold is anticipated to be priced around $2,400 in the US, featuring a 5.8-inch cover screen and a 7.58-inch inner flexible panel.
