Chinese smartphone manufacturers have recently begun releasing devices with 7,000-8,000mAh batteries, and HONOR was among the first with its HONOR 500 series. Now, the company is set to introduce the HONOR Win, which may feature an impressive 10,000mAh battery, according to a post on Weibo.
The claim about the HONOR Win’s battery capacity appears credible, as it was shared by A Yong, an engineer in HONOR’s Performance Optimization R&D team. This suggests that the information could be accurate.
Historically, large batteries have been common in entry-level and mid-range smartphones, serving as a key differentiator when other features, like cameras or chipsets, may not stand out. However, the HONOR Win is expected to be a flagship device.
A screenshot from the phone’s “About Phone” section indicates it will have an OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the latest offering from Qualcomm. Currently, the only other phone featuring this chipset with a sizable battery is the Red Magic 11 Pro, which has an 8,000mAh battery.
Additional specifications for the HONOR Win include 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM, 16GB of virtual RAM, and HONOR’s proprietary chips, such as the C1 + RF enhancement chip and the E2 power efficiency enhancement chip. The teaser also suggests a triple camera setup.
Looking ahead to 2026, the competition among smartphone manufacturers may shift focus from display technology and camera capabilities to battery size. The HONOR Win is poised to be one of the first devices with a 10,000mAh battery, but other brands, like Xiaomi, are also planning to release similar devices with large batteries in slimmer designs. While it’s unclear how long a 10,000mAh battery will last, it represents a significant upgrade from the typical 4,000-5,000mAh batteries found in many current smartphones.
