Qualcomm launches Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2: Up to 2.9GHz clockspeed and 51 percent improvement in performance

Qualcomm has introduced the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, a new 4G mobile platform aimed at entry-level devices.

The chip features a Kryo CPU with clock speeds reaching up to 2.9GHz, offering a performance increase of up to 51 percent compared to the previous generation.

The integrated Adreno GPU is reported to be up to 20 percent faster, supporting displays with resolutions above 1080p and refresh rates of up to 120Hz. Manufactured using a 6nm process, the platform can accommodate up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. Additionally, its USB port supports USB 3.1 speeds and Quick Charge 3 technology.

For imaging capabilities, the chip can handle single cameras up to 108MP. Its triple ISP can process data from three sensors simultaneously at 13MP+13MP+5MP or from two sensors at 16MP+16MP. Video capture is limited to 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second.

As indicated by its name, the platform includes a 4G LTE modem. Wireless connectivity options feature WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2, while location services are supported through various global navigation satellite systems, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, and NavIC.
