Huawei has officially launched the nova 15 series in China, featuring three models: nova 15, nova 15 Pro, and nova 15 Ultra. This lineup introduces Huawei’s new “dual-ring” design, along with enhanced cameras, improved chipsets, and larger batteries.
Huawei nova 15 Ultra and nova 15 Pro
The nova 15 Ultra and nova 15 Pro share many specifications, including 6.84-inch LTPO OLED screens with a resolution of 1,320 x 2,856 pixels and a refresh rate of 1-120Hz. They boast peak brightness of 4,000 nits and are protected by Kunlun glass. Both models feature a pill-shaped cutout for a 50MP selfie camera, supplemented by a 1.5MP multispectral sensor.
On the back, the nova 15 series showcases the new “dual-ring” design, with the nova 15 Ultra equipped with three 50MP RYYB sensors. The main lens has a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0 and includes optical image stabilization (OIS). Additionally, the device features a telephoto periscope with 3.7x optical zoom and an ultrawide lens with a 118-degree field of view.
The nova 15 Pro offers a 50MP RYYB main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS, alongside a 12MP RYYB telephoto and a 13MP RYYB ultrawide lens. Both models are rated IP68 and IP69 for water and dust resistance.
The nova 15 Ultra and nova 15 Pro are powered by Huawei’s Kirin 9010S chipset, which claims an 18% performance improvement over the previous Kirin 8020. They also support satellite connectivity and run on HarmonyOS 6.0. Both devices are equipped with 6,500mAh silicon carbon batteries and offer 100W wired charging, and the Ultra model supports 50W wireless charging.
Huawei nova 15
The nova 15 features a 6.7-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a 50MP selfie camera housed in a punch hole cutout. On the rear, it includes a 50MP RYYB main camera, a 12MP RYYB telephoto lens, and a 1.5MP multispectral color sensor.
This model is powered by the Kirin 8020 chipset, offering up to 42% better performance compared to its predecessor, the Kirin 8000. The nova 15 also has satellite connectivity and operates on HarmonyOS 6.0. It features a 6,000mAh battery with 100W wired charging and has an IP65 rating for ingress protection.
Pricing and Availability
The nova 15 series is available for pre-order on Vmall, with expected shipping starting December 27. Pricing for the different configurations is as follows:
