Weekly poll results: Samsung One UI voted as best Android skin

We asked for your opinion on the best Android skin last week, and the results are in. Samsung’s One UI received 41% of all votes, making it the clear winner. Google’s Pixel UI came in second with 20% of the votes, being the only other option with a double-digit share.

Custom ROMs were voted as the third best option, which is surprising given their decline in popularity over recent years. However, custom ROMs like LineageOS remain a viable choice for older devices, allowing users to run newer versions of Android and receive important security updates.

Nothing OS secured a notable position as well, thanks to its minimalist UI and unique dot-matrix design, which has attracted a dedicated fan base. Additionally, a significant number of users expressed indifference toward the Android skin.

This aligns with another recent poll question regarding the importance of Android skins. Over 43% of voters indicated that while Android skins are important, they are not a deal breaker. Conversely, nearly 40% have a strong preference for a specific skin and only purchase devices that run that version. This suggests that Android skins play a significant role in the decision-making process when selecting a new phone.

In the popularity contest, Oppo’s ColorOS came in fourth, surpassing Xiaomi HyperOS, Motorola Hello UI, Honor’s MagicOS, and Sony’s Xperia UI. The least popular skin on the list was vivo’s ColorOS.
