Huawei Mate X7 in for review

The Huawei Mate X7 has been launched as an international phone, available in White, Black, and Nebula Red. It comes with a single configuration of 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, priced at €2,099, which is higher than competitors like the Honor Magic V5 priced at €1,599.

Included in the retail package are a USB-A to USB-C cable, a 66W charger, and a case with a detachable kickstand. The Nebula Red variant features a vegan leather finish, while the Brocade White model has a textured woven brocade finish.

The Mate X7 is noted for its aesthetic appeal, featuring lightly curved sides that enhance its design but may complicate opening and closing. Although the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is slimmer and lighter, the Mate X7 boasts a 30% larger battery and faster charging capabilities.

The cover screen measures 6.49 inches diagonally, slightly larger than last year’s Mate X6, and offers a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. It is protected by Huawei’s Kunlun Glass 2. The inner display is also larger at 8 inches, with minimal creasing and a robust hinge design.

Camera specifications include a 24mm main shooter with a variable aperture, a 40MP ultrawide lens, and dual 8MP selfie cameras. The new periscope zoom camera features a 50MP sensor with an 81mm f/2.2 lens, which is an upgrade from the previous model.

Improvements over the Mate X6 include a larger battery, now at 5,600mAh, and a new 6nm Kirin 9030 chipset, which offers higher clock speeds and a newer GPU. A full review will provide further insights into its performance.
