The Xiaomi 17 Ultra was officially launched in China yesterday, alongside the introduction of the Watch 5 smartwatch. The Watch 5 features a circular AMOLED display, a dual-chip architecture, and is said to provide up to 6 days of battery life.
The smartwatch has a stainless steel case that encases a 1.54-inch circular AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 60Hz, a 480×480-pixel resolution, and a brightness of up to 1,500 nits. It is equipped with synthetic sapphire crystal glass on both the front and back, weighs 56 grams without the strap, and is 12.3 mm thick. The Watch 5 is rated for 5ATM water resistance and runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3.
Employing a dual-chip design, it integrates the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 SoC paired with a Hengxuan 2800 low-power chipset.
In terms of fitness and health, the Watch 5 offers continuous heart rate monitoring, ECG, SpO2 tracking, stress monitoring, sleep tracking, and supports over 150 sports modes. It also includes full-color offline maps and various features for runners.
The device has a 930mAh battery, providing up to 6 days of battery life during regular use and up to 18 days in power-saving mode. The ECG sensor can assist in navigation, detecting muscle signals to perform tasks like answering calls and controlling music playback.
For connectivity, the Xiaomi Watch 5 supports Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, and eSIM functionality.
The smartwatch is available in silver or black cases, with strap options including rubber, leather, or a 3D-printed titanium strap made from TC4 titanium alloy.
Pricing details indicate the model with a rubber strap is set at CNY 1,999 ($285), while the leather strap variant, available only with eSIM support, costs CNY 2,299 ($330). The 3D-printed titanium strap is priced at CNY 799 ($110) and comes in black and silver.
