Honor has recently introduced two mobile devices designed to alleviate concerns about low battery life: the Honor Win and its counterpart, the Win RT. Both devices launched in China and feature a significant 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, setting a new standard for flagship mobile endurance. These phones are equipped with high-performance chipsets and a robust build.
Notably, Honor has successfully incorporated this large battery into a body thickness of only 8.3mm, thanks to third-generation silicon-carbon technology. This allows for a sleek design while offering double the capacity compared to many current devices.
The Honor Win is specifically tailored for gamers, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, while the Win RT is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite. To prevent overheating during intense gaming sessions, Honor included a physical active cooling fan, capable of reaching up to 25,000 RPM in a special “Rage Mode.” This cooling system can lower core temperatures by approximately 7°C, helping maintain performance under high usage.
In terms of display, both models come with a 6.83-inch OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution. While many high-end gaming phones limit refresh rates to 144Hz or 165Hz, the Honor Win offers an impressive 185Hz refresh rate. The display also incorporates 5,920Hz PWM dimming for reduced flicker at lower brightness levels and features a peak brightness of 6,000 nits for visibility in direct sunlight.
While gaming is the primary focus, the camera capabilities are commendable as well. Both devices include a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP front-facing camera, with the Honor Win additionally offering a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. The Win RT has a simplified dual-camera setup without the telephoto lens.
Durability is another strong point, as both devices boast a triple-protection rating of IP68, IP69, and IP69K, making them resistant to water and high-pressure water jets, a notable achievement for gaming devices.
Regarding charging, both models are equipped with 100W wired charging to quickly replenish the 10,000mAh battery. The standard Win model also supports 80W wireless charging, one of the fastest available currently.
The Honor Win series is currently available in China, with pricing as follows:
– Honor Win RT: Starts at CNY 2,699 (approximately $385)
– Honor Win: Starts at CNY 3,999 (approximately $570) for the base 12GB/256GB model, going up to CNY 5,299 (approximately $755) for the 16GB/1TB version.
Both models come in Black, White, and Blue. A global release has not yet been confirmed, but the combination of a record-breaking battery and high-end gaming specifications makes this series noteworthy.
