Siliconera’s Mobile Game of the Year 2025

Siliconera’s Mobile Game of the Year 2025

2025 ended up being one of those quieter years for mobile games. This doesn’t mean there weren’t a lot of titles; many new releases appeared for players who enjoy gaming on their phones and tablets. However, some titles overshadowed others, making it feel like only a few were discussed along with ongoing favorites. That said, several standout games caught our attention. Below are our selections for Mobile Game of the Year 2025.

These awards represent the consensus of the Siliconera staff. Multiplatform games are considered based on the platform that received the most staff support.

Persona 5: The Phantom X
New to the world in 2025, following a prior release in China, Persona 5: The Phantom X builds on one of the biggest entries in this series by introducing a new group of Phantom Thieves. The original crew makes an appearance as well. While it may not stick closely to the formula, it offers a lot of fun.

Pokemon TCG Pocket
There’s a new way to enjoy the Pokemon TCG game on the go. Pocket isn’t entirely faithful to the original but includes alterations designed for shorter play sessions. Collecting new cards and opening virtual packs remains a significant part of the experience. Now that it’s been available for some time with various expansions and events, it’s truly found its place.

Umamusume: Pretty Derby
This game features young women with horse ears and tails who attend Tracen Academy to train for starring roles in concerts linked to race winners. Each character is based on real-life horses, with traits reflected in their personalities and running styles. Instead of controlling the races, players act as trainers, preparing the characters through Princess Maker-style simulations to keep them at peak performance. Umamusume: Pretty Derby is extraordinary and is our Mobile Game of the Year for 2025.
