More than two years after its commercial launch in the Philippine market, DITO Telecommunity may soon expand its presence to include fiber services.
Reports indicate that DITO Telecommunity has begun deploying fiber network access points in select areas. Sources suggest that the company may roll out its fiber service in Lipa, Batangas, and Imus and Bacoor in Cavite.
A prepaid fiber service is also being prepared for a September launch, according to reliable sources.
Initially, DITO Telecommunity entered the mobile market with its prepaid service and later expanded its offerings to include postpaid and home services. The company began competing with major players Globe Telecom and PLDT in March 2021.
Following the SIM registration deadline, DITO Telecommunity’s subscriber base decreased to approximately 8 million, but officials noted that these users are revenue-generating.
