Super-slim iPhone 17 Air is rumored to feature a 2,800mAh battery

In an era where larger battery capacities are becoming the norm, new rumors suggest that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air may stand out for the wrong reasons. Reports from South Korea indicate that the device could feature a 2,800mAh battery, which is relatively small by current standards. Many smartphone manufacturers are now utilizing higher-capacity batteries without significantly increasing device thickness, thanks to advancements in Silicon-Carbon battery technology.

When compared to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, which is 5.8mm thick and has a 3,900mAh battery, the iPhone 17 Air’s potential capacity appears inadequate. However, there is some hope that a higher-density battery could increase the capacity by 15 to 20 percent, potentially reaching up to 3,360mAh. Even with this increase, the capacity may still be considered disappointing unless Apple implements significant improvements in battery performance for everyday use.

Additionally, the iPhone 17 Air is rumored to be just 5.5mm thick and weigh 145 grams.
