Ahead of its anticipated release on December 25, Xiaomi recently shared camera samples from the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. These samples highlight the device’s capabilities.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra features a new 50MP f/1.67 OmniVision Light Hunter 1050L primary camera, utilizing Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor (LOFIC) technology. This technology enhances detail capture in both bright and dark areas, promising improved night and low-light photography with better-balanced highlights and shadows.
Initial samples display crisp details, vibrant colors, and a wide dynamic range. The camera demonstrates excellent color reproduction and accurate details. However, it remains unclear whether the images underwent post-processing, but they appear impressive for smartphone camera shots.
Additionally, a video was shared showing the Xiaomi 17 Ultra mounted on a drone to capture a fireworks display, credited to LOFIC for improving video quality in low-light conditions.
