In March, Computer Sweden reported that Google Assistant would be replaced by the AI tool Gemini in Android-based mobile phones before the new year. However, with just over a week left in the year, it is now clear that this will not occur.
A message on the Gemini support page indicates that the transition is taking longer than anticipated, meaning the process will not be completed until next year at the earliest.
