Google’s Pixel 10 family features several exclusive software capabilities, one of which is called Magic Cue. Recent reports indicate that Google plans to extend this functionality to all Android smartphones under the name Contextual Suggestions.
As the name suggests, Contextual Suggestions will offer helpful recommendations from your apps and services based on your daily activities and locations. For instance, Google mentions that your music app might suggest a workout playlist when you’re at the gym, or your device could prompt you to cast sports games to your TV at specific times if that’s part of your routine.
These suggestions operate within an encrypted environment on your device, ensuring that the data used remains private and is not accessible to apps or Google. Users can delete this data at any time, and it is set to be automatically removed after 60 days.
The feature works by storing device activity and location data securely, allowing artificial intelligence to analyze this information and generate recommendations without revealing the underlying data to apps or services. Currently, Contextual Suggestions is available to select users as part of the Google Play Services beta, but it is not widely accessible yet. When it becomes available, it can be found in the settings under Google or Google services.
