Delivering reliable connectivity to over 7,300 students and more than 100 teachers in remote island communities in the Philippines, the Blockchain4Youth initiative reported the completion of Starlink internet unit deployments to six schools in Surigao del Norte, Siquijor, and Negros Oriental this year, according to crypto firm Bitget.

Six New Starlink Units Deployed in 2025

The six schools that received the new Starlink units are:

  • Espoir School of Life in Surigao del Norte
  • Lasala Integrated School in Surigao del Norte
  • Apo Elementary School in Negros Oriental
  • Arts & Design Collective Dumaguete in Negros Oriental
  • Siquijor State College in Siquijor
  • Siquijor Provincial Science High School in Siquijor

“For many of these schools, this marks the first time they have experienced dependable high-speed internet access, transforming how classes are conducted and how teachers prepare lessons. Several campuses previously relied entirely on printed worksheets due to unreliable or nonexistent internet connectivity.” – Bitget, Founding Firm, Blockchain4Youth Initiative.

More Than Just Internet, But Even Education

According to Bitget, the Blockchain4Youth team conducted educator consultations, digital readiness assessments, and early testing of learning modules alongside installations at these six schools. The education initiatives include web3 and digital literacy programs.

Additionally, Bitget provided students and educators at beneficiary schools with access to interactive learning resources, online training, and updated curricula.

“This project is not just about connectivity — it’s about opportunity. By bringing Starlink to these islands, we are giving thousands of young people their first real access to the digital world and the tools they need to participate in tomorrow’s economy.” – Gracy Chen, Chief Executive Officer, Bitget.

Bitget’s Starlink Initiatives in the Philippines

The deployment of Starlink internet units to various schools across the Philippines is part of Bitget’s goal to enhance digital infrastructure and education in underserved regions. It began in Siargao at the Espoir School of Life, a non-profit organization providing free education to underprivileged children, and at a public school in Barangay Pitogo.

The initiative then expanded to Apo Elementary School, the only public school on Apo Island, and to the Arts and Design Collective Dumaguete, a local creative hub.

Look Forward to 2026

Bitget has announced plans to continue deploying more Starlink units along with digital skills programs to additional schools across the Philippines. This effort aims to ensure that no student or community is excluded from the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

“By combining high-speed internet access with long-term educational support, Bitget is helping remote communities bridge the digital divide, improve learning outcomes, and build pathways toward full participation in the global digital economy.” – Bitget, Founding Firm, Blockchain4Youth Initiative.
