Starbreeze Studios continues to work on revitalizing Payday 3 while Sidetrack Games takes the lead on ongoing support for Payday 2. In the meantime, players seeking heist action might find what they’re looking for in One-Armed Robber, a free game on Steam that offers a distinctive take on the genre. Its unique mechanics create an engaging, chaotic atmosphere for executing high-stakes missions. Recently, the game received a new location DLC along with an update that introduces an array of new explosives and throwables.
The premise of One-Armed Robber is straightforward, but the challenge of managing all actions with one hand enriches the gameplay experience, making it one of the most entertaining FPS titles in recent memory. This single-handed approach, combined with a physics-driven gameplay environment, adds significant weight to each action players take.
Every piece of loot requires careful handling as players must drop stacks of cash into a carry bag while balancing a rifle on top during their escape to the extraction vehicle. Even minor choices become crucial decisions, emphasizing the benefits of cooperative gameplay.

Developer Duhndal has consistently released updates and new maps since the launch of One-Armed Robber. For those who haven’t played recently, there will be plenty to explore. The latest update, the Harbor Heist, promises to challenge players’ skills, so preparation is essential.
“A new shipment of missile-guidance chips and military hardware from Rodman has just arrived at the shipping yard,” says Duhndal. However, to seize this opportunity, players must act quickly amid a nighttime thunderstorm. Rodman’s security will be heightened, with each container tied to an alarm system and protected by password-controlled laser grids.
Fortunately, players will have access to new gear. Fragmentation Grenades are a classic choice—just pull the pin and throw for a big explosion. Distraction Grenades, designed to divert guards non-lethally, can keep them occupied for up to 30 seconds. For electronic challenges, EMP Grenades can disable security cameras, lasers, and guard phone timers for a short period.
Alongside these new throwables, explosive gas canisters will be scattered throughout various locations, especially featured prominently in the Harbor Heist. Additionally, a festive Santa outfit can be obtained until Thursday, December 25.
The One-Armed Robber update is now live, and the Harbor Heist map is available for purchase. All DLC maps are currently 25% off until Monday, January 5, 2026, as part of the Steam Winter Sale, priced at just 900 Heist Coins each. Heist Coins are available starting at $4.99 / £3.99 for 1,500. The base game already includes a substantial amount of free content, making it worthwhile to support the developers by purchasing the addon packs. Gather your team and prepare to raid Rodman’s warehouses—an adventure awaits.
