Xiaomi 17 Ultra Set to Debut Next Week: What to Expect from the Latest Flagship Smartphone

Xiaomi has officially announced the upcoming launch of its camera-focused flagship, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The company’s CEO, Lei Jun, confirmed that the unveiling will take place next week in China. This launch will feature a strengthened collaboration with LEICA, starting from the early design stages.

A significant highlight of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is its new optical system, which includes what Xiaomi claims is the industry’s first LEICA APO-certified telephoto lens for mobile devices. This innovation aims to enhance color accuracy and minimize aberrations.

Reports indicate that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will come with a flat display, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and will feature a substantial battery capacity of nearly 7,000mAh. It is expected to support 100W wired and 80W wireless charging, as well as ultrasonic fingerprint authentication and IP68 water and dust resistance.

The rear camera setup is rumored to consist of a triple configuration, featuring a primary 50MP OV50X 1-inch sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera with macro capabilities, and a 200MP periscope 5x telephoto lens.

Pre-orders for the device have reportedly begun in China, with a global launch anticipated in March, alongside the standard Xiaomi 17. Additionally, a new NAS product may be introduced at the event.
