OPPO Pad Air 5 confirmed to launch on Christmas day

OPPO has confirmed the launch of a new tablet called the OPPO Pad Air 5 in China on December 25.

The brand has already started its pre-order page, revealing the device’s design, key features, and available variants ahead of the official announcement. The OPPO Pad Air 5 will feature a 2.8K resolution display, run the ColorOS operating system, and include a 10,050mAh battery.

According to the pre-order listing, the tablet will be available in WiFi and WiFi + 5G models. Color options include Space Gray, Starlight Powder, and Starlight Pink. The WiFi model will be offered in configurations of 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB. The 5G edition will be available only in Space Gray with an 8GB/128GB memory.

The disclosed features suggest that the OPPO Pad Air 5 may be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Pad Go 2, which recently launched in other markets. If this is the case, it is expected to include a 12.1-inch LCD 2.8K 120Hz display, a Dimensity 7300-Ultra chipset, LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and a 10,050mAh battery supporting 33W charging.

The tablet is also anticipated to feature 8MP cameras on both the front and rear, a quad-speaker setup for audio, and face unlock capability for biometric authentication. The OPPO Pad Air 5 will succeed the OPPO Pad Air 2, which launched in 2023 and was itself a rebranded version of the OnePlus Pad Go for the Chinese market.
