The new OnePlus 15R has undergone a teardown analysis by PBKreviews. This device shares a similar design with its flagship counterpart, the OnePlus 15, and the teardown process reveals several parallels.
The teardown begins with the removal of the SIM tray, followed by heating the glass back plate to detach it. This exposes the camera island, secured by four Phillips screws.
To access deeper components, 17 Phillips screws must be removed. The battery cables are concealed under a graphite film and copper tape, but OnePlus has included pull pouches on the sides of the battery, simplifying the removal process.
After detaching a few more flex cables, the 32MP selfie camera can be accessed, and a single Phillips screw allows for the motherboard to be freed. Removing the screen is more complex, requiring the disassembly of several components, including the bottom cover, back plate, sub-board, and display cables.
Ultimately, the OnePlus 15R receives a repairability score of 8.5 out of 10.
