The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has partnered with SM Supermalls to provide commuters with real-time traffic information across Metro Manila. This initiative will feature live CCTV traffic feeds from MMDA cameras displayed in selected SM malls, beginning with SM Megamall.
During the launch, MMDA Chair Romando “Don” Artes highlighted that the screens will show current traffic conditions on nearby roads, including major sections of EDSA. This feature allows shoppers and commuters to assess road conditions before they travel.
The collaboration aims to enhance accessibility to traffic updates by leveraging the high foot traffic in malls. SM Supermalls stated that the project supports practical solutions to help Filipinos plan safer and more efficient trips. Additional SM malls are expected to participate in the initiative soon.
