Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold sells out again in Korea, laughably small stock to blame

One strategy to generate excitement for a new product is to limit its availability, leading to numerous “sold out” headlines. This appears to be the case with Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold in Korea, which sold out within minutes during its initial sale a few days ago.

Samsung announced a restock for this week, which occurred earlier today, but the product sold out again in just two minutes. Reports indicate that the initial stock was 1,000 units, and the total sales volume, including today’s restock, reached 3,000 units.

In a country with a population of around 50 million, 3,000 units is a relatively small number. Samsung had two choices: either wait until more units were produced before selling or release the limited stock and create a perception of high demand. It seems clear which option Samsung chose.

The Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to launch in the US, UAE, Singapore, China, and Taiwan in the coming weeks, and it may sell out in those markets as well.
