Becca Bloom is sharing surprising news about her internet-famous cat, Oscar. In a December 16 video, the content creator, known for her ‘RichTok’ videos, sat down with her husband, David Pownall, to reveal some unexpected details about their lives.
One startling revelation is that Bloom, who started TikTok to promote her cat, is actually allergic to him. This comes as a surprise given Oscar’s frequent appearances in her videos. Bloom has previously shared that her cat plays a significant role in her life, even mentioning that her mother decorates a Christmas tree specifically for each pet in their household.
In addition to her cat’s adventures, Bloom has shared unique experiences, such as having Oscar baptized, with the two wearing matching outfits for the occasion. She has also detailed the luxurious meals Oscar enjoys, which include sushi-grade salmon sashimi, a tuna bone broth blend, and decorative elements like flowers and berries.
Pownall contributed to the conversation by mentioning that they sometimes travel to Japan for koi fish auctions and that, despite their social media portrayal, they typically go to bed by 9 p.m. He also revealed that he has over 150,000 unopened Instagram follow requests.
Bloom opened up about her struggles with anxiety and OCD, recalling her experience of locking herself in a bathroom for hours during high school to solve math problems. Pownall noted this led to her nearly perfect score in the National Math Olympiad.
The couple shared that they sometimes take drives through the Santa Cruz Mountains to unwind, admitting to “screaming into the forest” on tough days. Bloom and Pownall married on August 28 in Lake Como, an event that garnered attention online, although Bloom later disclosed to Vogue that not everything went as planned. Rain forced some changes to their wedding plans, but they adapted and enjoyed their day, dance in the rain included.
