Adobe Lightroom HDR editing is now officially supported on the Samsung Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S24 series due to a recent update. This update enables true HDR workflows on both flagship models, which already feature significant hardware and software capabilities.
The update is being rolled out through the Lightroom Mobile app, version 11.1.0, for Android devices. It appears to be a global rollout and includes several additional features.
According to the official changelog, the update introduces seamless album sharing via unique links or QR codes, and it does not require a subscription. In addition to HDR editing support for the Galaxy S24 and S25, users will also receive new camera and lens profiles, along with various bug fixes to enhance stability.
Before this update, Galaxy S24 and S25 users were unable to edit HDR photos in the Adobe app, despite having the necessary hardware. The Galaxy S24 owners, in particular, will benefit from this update, as they had been anticipating true HDR editing support since the phone’s launch last year.
True HDR support offers Galaxy S24 and S25 users significant advantages, allowing them to see brighter highlights, deeper shadows, and more details during editing in the Lightroom app. This enhancement positions both flagship Galaxy phones as even more attractive options for photographers and editors seeking improved hardware and software on mobile devices.
Having support for third-party apps and accessory manufacturers makes Galaxy phones more appealing compared to competitors. Recently, Notion Labs has also partnered with Samsung to pre-install Notion on the Galaxy Tab S11, providing its paid subscription for tablet owners.
