Sei Crypto Wallet to come pre-installed on Xiaomi phones

Xiaomi has partnered with The Sei Development Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the Sei network, to foster mainstream blockchain adoption globally.

Starting in 2026, Xiaomi smartphones sold outside of mainland China and the United States will feature a wallet and a crypto discovery application created by Sei Labs.

This initiative is expected to significantly boost network adoption, as Xiaomi ranks among the largest smartphone manufacturers globally, following Samsung and Apple.

Eligible devices will facilitate peer-to-peer payments, allow users to explore Web3 products, and provide access to decentralized applications without requiring third-party downloads.

Additionally, Sei plans to introduce stablecoin payments in over 20,000 Xiaomi retail locations, beginning in Hong Kong and the European Union.

Sei Labs aims to create a “decentralized NASDAQ” and is targeting a capacity of 200,000 transactions per second to transition the financial ecosystem on-chain.

To support this vision, the Sei Development Foundation has launched a USD 5 million Global Mobile Innovation Program to assist developers.

Sei employs a parallelized Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), capable of processing thousands of transactions per second with finality in under 400 milliseconds, giving it a competitive advantage over other blockchains.
