Samsung is continuing its updates with the rollout of the December 2025 security update for the Galaxy S22 series. This update enhances the security of the devices by addressing 57 vulnerabilities found in the previous operating system version.
Currently, the update is being released in India, with plans to expand to additional regions shortly. The update is approximately 485.19MB in size and has the firmware version S90xEOXMCGYL1. Users can check for the latest firmware by navigating to Settings, then Software update, and selecting Download and install.
The December 2025 security patch resolves 57 security issues, including six classified as critical and the remainder as high-risk. Additionally, Samsung is addressing 11 specific vulnerabilities that affect its devices.
In other news, Samsung is working on its next major operating system version, One UI 8.5. A beta program for the Galaxy S25 series has already begun. While the Galaxy S22 series is expected to receive this update, a specific rollout schedule has not yet been announced. The stable version of One UI 8.5 is anticipated to launch with the Galaxy S26 series early next year, followed by a gradual rollout to other eligible devices.
